Job Title: PRN Athletic Trainer
Summary/Objective:
The PRN Athletic Trainer will demonstrate the ability to perform the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, (including first aide) and reconditioning as set forth by the NATA Board of certification. The PRN Athletic Trainers work as needed at Spooky Nook Sports, local schools, and/or local athletic events.
Responsibilities:

Promotes the mission and values of the organization.

Provide services directed toward achieving increased functional independence, decreasing functional limitations, and prevention of injuries to the individual patient/athlete.

Upon the advance advice and consent of a physician, carry out the practice of prevention, recognition, evaluation, management, disposition, treatment, and/or rehabilitation of injuries.
- Perform evaluations of injuries, follow standing orders for treatment, management of the injury or refer the athlete to a physician.

Provide education in the prevention of injuries, conditioning, and rehabilitation of injuries.
- Document evaluative findings, treatments that were administered, the patient assessment and the patient’s treatment plan.

Clean and maintain treatment area and work space.

Provide emergency care within the Athletic Training scope of practice.

Ability to work in a wide variety of settings.

Effectively communicate with the patient/athlete, family, physician, and/or coach regarding the patient/athlete`s injury and his/her ability to return to work/practice/competition.

Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Training Management Team.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors or Masters’ degree in athletic training.
Licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Athletic Training.
Certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATA-BOC).
The ability to lift up to 50lbs to assist with transferring patients using proper body mechanics.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Previous experience in Athletic Training is preferred.
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
Basic knowledge of professional, collegiate, or high school sports.
Travel:
Potential travel between office locations as well as travel to contracted schools, events and tournaments, etc.
