PRIMARY FUNCTION
Early career designers join HED with passions for collaboration, critical thinking, professional-growth, and great design. They seek to gain exposure to multiple market sections including Mission Critical, Healthcare, Housing, PreK-12 schools, Higher Education, Government and Science and Technology. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, excels working in a hybrid work environment, under the supervision of a Project Architect, is nimble and enjoys applying his/her/their talents through all phases of the project, from its earliest stages through construction administration. HED is looking for designers interested in a varied experience this includes applying their graphic skills to project work, pursuits, model building, and competitions, and homing their technical skills on project production assignments.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the delivery of professional services as defined by the HED Design Process guidelines .under the supervision of the job captain and project architect

Understand the design intent and assist with its documentation

Assist with required code research for project assignments.

Assist with material and product research as required for project development.

Participate in internal and/or external project meetings as required by scope and schedule.

Coordinate with team as directed to provide written documentation where needed.

Assist with responding to requests for information and submittal reviews under the direction of the job captain and project architect.

Participate in technical reviews through all phases of the project to meet HED expectations for quality and project performance.

Participate in the development of graphics, 3D visualization and models for project pursuits and competitions

Support design work with model building and material collection

Other assignments as directed by the project team or super Technical Discipline Leader
SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Architecture (4-year) degree

Commitment to taking the ARE
-
Level of experience from newly graduated to five years

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Strong organizational skills.

Proficient in Rhino and preferred experience in BIM software, such as Revit
-
Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.

Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Capable of traveling to and from project sites for attending client, project, and construction meetings.

Ability to access existing and new project sites for the purposes of project observation, investigation, and evaluation.

Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes.

Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
