Barrington School of Grandview is looking for a Cook. We are a premier daycare center that maintains low student to teacher ratios, serves freshly prepared wholesome organic meals and offer many more services and amenities to differentiate ourselves from the pack.
- You have at least two years of experience as a Cook or Chef.
- You can prepare and serve meals for 150+ children in a calm and timely manner.
- You can maintain a positive attitude at all times towards the parents, teachers, owners.
- You are 100% reliable (show up to work everyday, on time).
- You are willing to get Servsafe Level2 certification (we pay for it).

Responsibilities and Duties
Day to day operations
- Ensure the kitchen runs as a well-oiled machine every day.
- Breakfast, lunch, and two snacks are prepared and served according to the menu and recipe.
- Make sure the kitchen is immaculately clean before leaving for the day.
- Step into the class room to fill in for ratio as needed.
- Drive school van to/from nearby schools as needed.
- At all times, maintain a keen awareness of allergies and meal preferences in each room.
- Make weekly Costco and Kroger grocery trips.
- Maintain monthly food budget.
Compliance
- Make sure all rules from CPH (Columbus Public Health) are followed and the kitchen is ready for CPH inspection any day.
- Make sure all rules from ODJFS are followed the kitchen is ready for ODJFS inspection any day.
- Follow daily, weekly, monthly cleaning checklists.
Relationship Management
- Children – Our #1 priority is to keep our children safe and happy. You will be spending time in the classroom, developing personal relationships with children.
- Parents – Second most important priority is to ensure parent satisfaction. You will always be touching base with parents to address their concerns before it becomes a concern.
- Teachers – Third important priority for us is the well being of our teachers. You will develop great relationships with teachers.
- Director – You will work under the guidance of the Director of the school.
- Owners (Franchisee) – You will be an effective communicator to keep the owners informed and seek out their help when necessary.
Other Requirements
- Ability to handle crisis situations, especially relating to children.
- Flexibility in work hours and assignment.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- A clean background check.
- Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid.
- Ability to see and read newsprint, with or without corrective lenses.
- Ability to speak and be understood under normal circumstances.
- Ability to use arms, hands, legs, and feed with or without corrective devices; this includes the ability to evacuate the building during emergencies.
