Makes and conducts presentations on grant funding needs

Performs grant writing and collaborates with director on budgetary and purchasing needs

Oversees graduate student intern program and serves as counseling supervisor to interns within the program

Provides clinical supervision to department counselors who are at a licensed intern/associate status

Conducts compliance and evaluates the utilization of the challenge course and ensures standards are met according to the Association of Challenge Course Technology

Trains and mentors interns and creates intern program parameters and objectives

Coordinates with universities on finding qualified intern participants

Develops, creates, and implements adventure-based counseling programs for residents

Serves as liaison for counseling staff regarding coordination for adventure-based programs

Trains Juvenile Services personnel on adventure-based programs and benefits

Assists in providing and coordinating community resources based on resident and family needs

Participates in identifying and treatment of mental health needs

Responds to mental health crisis and provides crisis intervention

Supports residents and families with transition and continuity of mental health care

Conducts mental health and counseling assessments

Coaches non-mental health personnel on youth mental health issues

Provides progress update to mental health professionals

Attends all meetings and trainings as necessary

Work is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environment

Continuous contact with youth accused of or adjudicated for various crimes

May be required to perform work outdoors in inclement weather (heat, cold, wet, conditions)
Some travel between work sites as required

Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required
