- Leads and directs daily activities of the shipping department, including productivity, quality, service, and on-time delivery in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring customer requirements and organization goals are achieved.
- MUST know international import/ export LCL to Full Container
- Responsible for securing quotes for LTL and TL shipments, both domestic and international
- Load planning and working with freight brokers
- Schedule and track inbound and outgoing shipments.
- Must have knowledge of calculating cubic feet and freight math
- Ensure orders are delivered on time to retail customers worldwide
- Must be able to calculate freight rates domestic and international
- Investigate all shortages and chargebacks
- Identify new carriers to provide cost savings to the organization
- Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing of carriers to meet necessary specifications and costs.
- Negotiate rates with carriers.
- Maintain customer service logs and OSHA safety records.
Requirements:
- 3 years' of field experience required that includes international import and export
- Able to manage time effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient inventory management and platforms such as FedEx Ship and UPS Worldship. Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.
- Proficiency in Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
