CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Interior Design or Architecture
NCIDQ certification highly desirable
LEED certification – highly desirable
Skills:
- Revit – a must – intermediate to advanced level
- AutoCAD – a must – intermediate to advanced level
- Sketchup – highly desirable
- Indesign & Photoshop – highly desirable
- Excel – a must – intermediate to advanced – work with formulas, able to format
Knowledge:
- Contract furniture – advanced knowledge of products
- Know New England manufacturer reps & dealers
- Know FF&E specification to bid to procurement process – able to manage FF&E spec writing and bid thru procurement thru installation.
- FF&E budgets.
- FF&E coordination with building infrastructure.
- Interior finish products for public institutions – knowledge of products, safety, durability, sustainability. Able to write relevant specs.
Experience:
- 6 – 10 years or more of professional interior design experience in large, commercial projects; at least 5 of those years in higher education (or K-12, healthcare, corporate work environment)
- Design and management of interior design projects that are large institutions with focus on interior finishes and FF&E. Execution from start of project to finish.
- Preparing for and making presentations to clients. Client interface, management of client expectations.
- Managing and mentoring staff.
- Responding to RFPs, writing proposals, estimating fees (if no or minimal experience – eager and able to learn).
Role Description:
- Will work directly with Principal. Contingent upon experience manage at senior level as a ‘right-hand’ deputy to Principal on all projects and marketing pursuits.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently. Will manage team for each project that will include intermediate and/or junior designers. Manage schedule & deadlines, meetings & presentations, development of design and supporting drawings and specifications, team workplans, adherence to scope and fee.
- Assist with marketing endeavors including writing RFPs and Proposals. Occasionally participate in interviews.
- The firm is grounded in systems and protocols that support our work. We have very specific filing systems, a database of furniture, and FF&E spec writing software that is sync’d with drawings. These systems enable us to tackle many projects concurrently. It is of the utmost importance to use and promote our systems and to constantly improve upon them. Delegating adherence to the systems is part of the role.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
