Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 per year
Job Summary:
PIC Group has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor at a combined cycle power generation facility near Albany, NY. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations of the facility and supervision of mechanical and electrical technicians. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate plant maintenance with a strong safety culture
- Assigns and supervises daily routine and plant/unit outage work activities of plant staff and contracted resources, including scheduled preventive maintenance, corrective and routine work.
- Daily, verifies new work order descriptions, priorities and root cause analysis to meticulously plan, resource load and schedule the work.
- Assist with the procurement/purchasing of spare parts and materials for stock and non-stock.
- Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable supplier.
- Assists with the preparation, justification and control of annual maintenance budgets.
- Supervise the maintenance staff to ensure support for planned and unplanned outages.
Job Requirements:
- Work schedule is Mon – Thurs 0600 – 0430 - Must be available for night shift as required during forced and planned outages
- Assists Maintenance Manager in development and monitoring of plant budget, operating plan, and development of technicians.
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance of the facility to support achieving company and group goals.
- Select, train, and manage a work force that is motivated, flexible in skills, cross-trained and technically astute ensuring an effective and motivated team.
- Maintain good relationships with key suppliers to ensure deadlines and fiscal targets are met.
- Manage contracts and contractors effectively with appropriate attention to contractor safety and performance.
- Ability to pass respirator fit tests to always use respiratory protective equipment or self-contained breathing apparatus.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to: stand, walk, stoop, kneel or sit. Must be able to: talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms extensively.
- Must be able to enter and work in confined space areas, including boilers, condensers, tanks, etc. to evaluate equipment condition or inspect work efforts by assigned resources.
- Vision requirements for this position include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Education / Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant combined cycle power plant-related experience
- Minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience in power generation facilities
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Experience with operations and maintenance of gas turbines, steam turbine, generators, heat recovery steam generators, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic devices, controls, and monitoring.
- Proficiency with personal computers, including Microsoft Office suite and ability to quickly become proficient with computerized maintenance management systems.
