Field Engineer Job Description
PSE Audio Visual is a young and growing Brooklyn-based integration company looking for full-time AV Field Engineers to work on local and national projects. At least two_ years of commissioning and servicing permanently installed audio/video systems. This is not an entry-level position—compensationis based on experience._
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to comprehend audiovisual system schematics
- Operate most types of AV systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
- Coordinate technical, architectural, and construction requirements with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Design Engineers.
- Supervise on-site union and non-union labor to complete the installation according to the scope and best practices.
- Program and configure AV equipment such as Polycom, Biamp, QSC, Crestron, Extron, AMX, Cisco, DSPs, Savant, matrix mixers, and switchers.
- Perform troubleshooting, problem-solving, and complete Project Engineer’s field punch lists to ensure client acceptance of audiovisual components and integrated systems.
- Perform field service calls as required for warranty support of completed projects.
- Prepare/stage systems for Quality Control (QC)
- Provide routine status reports to Project Managers and Project Engineers
- Configure IP addressable devices such as routers, switches, and servers.
- Contribute to projects from the initial estimating phase through final inspections and commissioning.
- Be willing to work “in-house” and in the field. Field work is 90% of the assignments.
- Competent with Windows-based software such as MS Office, Visio, Projects, and D-Tools.
- Professionally interact with clients.
- When required, travel outside the metro NY area for job responsibilities.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and can pass drug and background screenings.
- Familiarity with multimeters, digital and analog test generators, and other electronic test meters
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and collaborative team player
- Minimum of (1) audio digital signal processing (DSP) certification (QSC, ClearOne, Biamp, Polycom, etc.)
Certification & Training Preferred:
- AVIXA CTS is required, CTS-I/CTS-D is preferred
- Audiovisual industry certifications required
- Preferred manufacturer certifications: QSYS, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Savant, Lutron
- 4-year College Degree Preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $81,024.00 - $88,378.00 per year
