Job Description
A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who works under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to provide behavioral interventions for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. You will implement these programs in-home, in-school, or throughout the community, supporting children with autism and their families.
The primary responsibilities of an RBT include:
- Implement treatment plans designed by the supervising BCBA to help clients improve their social, communication, and adaptive skills while reducing problematic behaviors
- Gather data on client progress and behavior during sessions, this is used to monitor the effectiveness of the intervention and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain communication with clients, their families, and other professionals involved in the client's care to ensure a coordinated and effective treatment approach
- Collaborate with other professionals on treatment programs
- Ensure that the therapy setting is conducive to learning and free from potential hazards
- Participate in on-going training to further develop skills and working knowledge

- $18 – $27 per hour for therapy sessions, based on experience and education

Qualifications
- Preferred associate degree in psychology or related field
- Reliable transportation required (valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and maintain proof of proper insurance). All services are provided to the client in their home or school environment
- RBT Certificate or once employed, complete a 40-hour training program, pass a competency assessment, and maintain their certification through ongoing supervision and continuing education
- Experience working with children, prior ABA experience with children strongly preferred
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Ability to maintain fingerprint clearance card and CPR/First Aid certification
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Able to work between the hours of 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday-Friday and some Saturdays
- Able to provide consistent availability for a minimum of 6 months upon hire
