We are looking for a skilled, well-organized pediatric dental assistant with great attention to detail and enjoys working with children. This dental assistant position will provide direct and indirect patient care services for Panhandle Pediatric Dentistry under direct supervision of our Dentist(s). Responsibilities
- Welcome patients in the dental office.
- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups.
- Select and set up instruments, equipment and materials needed.
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations.
- Able to efficiently perform four-handed dentistry.
- Able to properly chart dental dentition (treatment planning).
- Able to take digital diagnostic x-rays.
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
- Keep the dental operatories clean and well-stocked.
Skills
- Proven experience as dental assistant.
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
- Understanding of health & safety regulations.
- Ability to complete procedures for hygiene and operative appointments.
- Computer skills and knowledge in Electronic Health Records.
- Strong communication skills to accurately deliver necessary information to dentists, patient, parent/guardian and other staff
- Attention to detail, well-organized and reliable.
- Ability to assist with preventive, therapeutic and surgical clinical procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Dental Certification: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certificate, OR Graduate from a formal accredited dental assisting school in accordance with Florida Administrative Code Rule: 64B5-16.002
- Must have reliable transportation.
