BWP is a water well and pump contractor in Fenton, Missouri who removes, rebuilds and reinstalls water well pumps. We are seeking a qualified machinist to work in conjunction with our master machinist with the intent of filling his role upon retirement.
Job Description
The machinist is responsible for:
- Receiving and inspecting pump components
- Re-machining the pumps to match manufacturers’ tolerances
- Reassembling the pump equipment.
To do this, our machinist turns, faces and balances impellers and cuts and threads pump shafts. Additionally, the machinist will machine and help fabricate specialty tools and components for our fleet of specialty service and drilling equipment.
Qualifications
- The candidate must be familiar with a variety of machining practices and procedures. Will operate manual lathes, drills, and mills. Should be able to make parts from samples or drawings. Must be able to perform left and right-hand threading operations on shafting and pipe. The machinist will be responsible for writing detailed inspection reports, so he or she needs to be skilled in quality control.
- Mig and stick welding capabilities would be a bonus.
- The successful candidate should be willing to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License at BWP‘s expense.
