This position requires travel to our three clinics in Montrose, Olathe, and Delta.
Position Purpose: To provider consistent high quality care to patients and evaluate the needs to patients at the River Valley Family Health Center. This position participates in clinical staff meetings. This is a full time position requiring 40 hours a week.
River Valley is a Federally Qualified Health Center and does require all our staff to receive the COVID vaccination or have an approved medical or religious exclusion.
Essential Functions:
- All essential job functions take place in the office/clinic.
- Ensure smooth office operations which support teamwork, and generate a positive attitude between front and back office staff.
- Maintains a professional demeanor and customer service orientation to clients, peers, and providers. Will work in collaboration with other medical assistants/nursing staff and providers.
- Attend regular EMR training sessions and distribute new information to providers and staff through individual trainings and communications.
- Maintain efficient levels of medical supplies where they are needed.
- Able to effectively perform the tasks and procedures required of a LPN in a primary care clinic setting.
- Take Vitals
- Perform CLIA waived laboratory test
- Take and document client’s history and chief complaint
- Assist the provider with minor surgical procedures using sterile field
- Performs phlebotomy services and processes specimens for send out
- Order referrals/consults/procedures for patients and track their results for follow-up * Responds to patients inquires and performs a medical triage function
- Prepares a client’s medical records for the provider visit by documenting clearly and correctly, assures that the right forms are in the medical record anticipating the needs of the visit.
- Provides health related education to clients and their families including how to use glucose monitoring devices, filling out patient assistant forms for medications, filling out paperwork for medical equipment, oxygen, nocturnal oxygen studies, nebulizers.
- Travel to one of our three clinical facilities (Delta, Olathe, and Montrose) when deemed necessary for River Valley
- Coordinates reordering of medical supplies with the Nursing Director and QA/QI Director
- Will be required to occasionally work at our Convenient Care Clinic in Delta
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
- Requires periods of standing and walking.
- Requires long periods of time sitting while on the telephone and/or doing computer work.
- Requires sufficient near vision to be able to read documents and computer screen.
- Essential to have ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 35 pounds.
- Essential to have ability to use routine office equipment such as computer and telephone.
- Essential to have ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, twist and reach.
- Essential to have ability to hear routine conversations.
- Essential to have ability to comprehend both oral and written communications.
- OSHA Classification is Category I: All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissue, or a potential for spills or splashes of these fluids.
- HIPAA Classification: Unrestricted Access: A workforce member with unrestricted access will have full access to patient’s protected health information, including the patient’s entire medical record, for patient care purposes.

Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma*
- Completion of an approved educational program for Licensed Practical Nurses**
- BLS certification.*
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with patients, staff team members.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel to meetings outside of the service area.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet job requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Ability to be a team player. Support and assist team members. Be available to help, and learn from the team. Keep an open mind to feedback, and earn trust of staff and providers.
Experience:
- At least one year of experience in an ambulatory health care sitting desired

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
