Position: Stationary Watch Engineer w/ Power Generation Experience for Central Utility Plant
Shift: The Plant Operates 24/7/365 - With no permanently assigned shifts.
3 Daily Rotational Shifts
License: Maryland Stationary Engineer License Required
Duties: Serving mission critical facilities being operated in-person serving multiple buildings at a University System of Maryland Educational Campus.
The Engineer will:
- Operate all equipment needed (but not limited to) to provide Chilled Water, Hot Water, Steam, and Electricity.
When on duty the engineer will operate, monitor, and control the equipment in order to meet the facility demands as well as optimizing overall plant efficiency while maintaining compliance with Maryland State emission regulations.
Ensure compliance with Client policies, procedures, codes, regulations, university & government agency directives as well as Contractor’s Best Practices/Policies and Procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Power Generation Experience Highly Desired & Preferred
- High School diploma considered / College degree preferred
- Communicate effectively in English in speaking and writing
- Able to work 7 days a week with occasional overtime during afternoons, evenings and weekends as needed
- Must be able to work varied shifts and available to work on call as scheduled
- Possess current, valid driver’s license (not under suspension or limitation)
- Good physical condition with ability to lift 75 lbs. and possessing good fine motor coordination and ability to withstand exposure to dust, fumes, heights, and confined spaces
- U.S. Citizen or approved registered alien
- Ability to pass drug screening and Federal Government criminal background check with no felony records

- Mechanical Knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- MD 1st Class Stationary Engineer (Preferred)
- MD 2nd Class Stationary Engineer (Accepted)
- MD 3rd – 5th Class Stationary Engineer (Considered)
