Position purpose: The scheduler will help patients schedule appointments at our various clinics. This is an entry-level position in the office.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
- Must be good at building relationships with people.
- Must be a team player.
- Must have great customer service.
- Must be able to handle high-volume calls.
- Must be able to maintain physicians’ schedules – scheduling office visits and procedures (may be done via phone or face-to-face).
- View patient visit notes, identifying problems & diagnoses listed and physician orders.
- Assist in patient registration and financial transactions.
- Can handle scheduling radiology/lab appointments.
- Must be able to schedule appointments for patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a doctor’s office.
- Prior scheduling experience is required.
- Dermatology experience is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills are required
- Experience working in a medical office
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented
- Basic understanding of healthcare plans
- Be able to read and understand medical benefits.
- Valid Driver's License
- Bilingual is a plus.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
