Drywall Metal Framer
· Drywall framers install and fasten panels of drywall into the framework.
· Makes measurements, read drawings for proposed works, source materials, and prepares the site for work.
· Installs metal structures such as frames, partitions, joists, and stud work.
· Ensures they have the necessary ladders, tools, and drywall to perform the tasks.
· After panels are installed and set, applies compound or spackle to join the drywall panels together, and in an efficient and quick manner to minimize any imperfections and reinforce the drywall and sands off any imperfections.
· Measures and cut standard-sized pieces of drywall to fit walls and it uses glue, nail or screw it to a wood or metal building frame.
· Uses mechanical lifts to put drywall in place in ceilings.
· Reads blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction trades
· Works according with other trades, architects and building code recommendations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma/Trade school/ Apprenticeship.
- Experience of using hand and power tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, saws, and nail guns.
- Knowledge of building regulations and codes to be adhered to.
- Physically fit and able to work in range of environments
· Previous experience with metal framing work. Preferable 2-3 years.
