Responsibilities:
- Inspect tags and materials pulled for an order and take mic readings prior to placing material on the mandrel.
- Utilize set-up, in-process, final inspections and SPC to help improve processes.
- Ensure that material is cut to be within the tolerance of any given profit order or processing instruction.
- Observe and inspect material for any defects while processing, and ensure that the defective material is identified, an Inspection of Quality Report is written, and the material is placed in claim.
- Record and state cause of all down time on a down time report.
- Responsible for the finished and packaged material, ensuring that all material is prime and properly packaged on a skid, completely paper wrapped to meet Pacesetter's standards, customer specifications, and any given requirements.
- Direct and assist in the packaging of finished product.
- Assist in all areas of service center operations when not performing primary duties.
- Assist Maintenance personnel in any troubleshooting or maintenance of the leveling line as directed.
- Inspect line at the start of shift and observe during operations for any equipment problems or improper working parts. Report all problems to Maintenance/ Management.
- Responsible for tracking and recording linear footage on all slitting.
- Responsible for logging all coils processed in the Coil Log.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of Machine Operator experience on Slitter or Cut-To-Length lines.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a Steel Service Center.
- Ability to read a micrometer, caliper, and tape measure.
- Ability to use basic math skills involving making calculations of amounts, sizes, weights, or other measurements.
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to work well with diverse populations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Slitter Machine Operator: 2 years (Preferred)
- CTL Machine Operator: 2 years (Preferred)
- Steel Service Center: 2 years (Required)
