Overview: Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and support the production team by assembling parts, operating machinery, bending, punching, or sawing of metal products as instructed by supervisors.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate the 6K CNC laser cutting machine and other production machinery.
- Select and set up lenses, load programs, and adjust machine parameters for optimal performance.
- Possess knowledge of shield gases used in laser cutting operations.
- Monitor bulk tank system fill levels and report reorder levels to the supervisor.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Utilize automated storage systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Pay great attention to detail and focus on assigned tasks.
- Follow all company rules, policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Assemble items as instructed by shift leader or floor supervisor.
- Prepare products for shipment.
- Manual lifting of raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment may be required.
- Operate machinery in the production process or assist other machine operators.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED
- Over 2 years of experience on Trumpf, Amada, or similar CNC laser cutting machines.
- Demonstrated physical dexterity and basic math ability; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in following verbal and written instructions and collaborating effectively within a team.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to identify various material types, including Aluminum, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper, and Brass
- Familiarity with basic measurement equipment such as tape measure, Vernier calipers, and micrometers
- Basic computer skills
- Preferred: Basic Blueprint reading ability
- Preferred: Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
- Proven proficiency in measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills
