Essex mortgage is hiring for our Learning and Development Manager position to assist our Servicing Department!
Job Summary:
The Learning and Development Manager promotes team member growth and development. They will be responsible for evaluating training needs, overseeing publication of all training deliverables, educating training staff on growth expectations, and creating and delivering a training development plan complete with materials, tutorials, assessments and quizzes. The training supervisor must also manage the delivery of the new hire training program and approved curriculum. They must consult with business leaders on process specific training to be delivered to staff level employees.
Essential Duties:
- Develop a schedule to assess training needs.

- Oversee quality and efficiency of training staff
- Report on training goals and attrition trends
- Lead projects assigned by Communications Manager
- Consult with other managers and leadership
- Track and compile collected data
- Conceptualize training materials based on data and research
- Create training strategies and initiatives
- Create training materials
- Maintain a database of all training materials within training resource center
- Deliver employee training and new hire onboarding
- Develop assessments and quizzes to be rolled out consistently
- Track training completion and compile monthly reporting
- Encourage training engagement through creativity and resource utilization
- Maintain communication regarding spirit and company functions
Education and Experience
- Two+ years training experience is preferred
- Bachelors or relevant experience in the field
- Mortgage servicing knowledge preferred
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage time
- Ability to communicate effectively – both in written and verbal form
- Desire to take personal responsibility to complete tasks and solve problems
- Excellent organizational skills and strong work ethic.
- Ability to remain professional even under strenuous situations.
- Be able to take ownership of an issue.

Computer and Equipment Skills
- Intermediate in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Word processing (speed and accuracy)
- MSP or FICS’ Mortgage Servicer a plus
- Email

- Use typical office equipment (computers, fax, phones, copiers, scanners, projectors, etc.)
REASONING and MENTAL ABILITIES
- Uses critical thinking skills to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and to analyze complex documents like contracts and technical directions.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
- Vision (with or without correction) sufficient to read a computer screen at 20 inches and to operate office equipment or a car
- Clear speaking on the telephone and in person; hearing within normal ranges in noise environments typical of office
- Able to sit for long periods of time at computer or other work station and in meetings
- Able to finger and feel in order to use equipment, computers and operate equipment
- Able to lift 10 pounds occasionally unassisted
