Position Responsibilities:
The Technical QA/QC Inspector performs Technical Inspections, FMC + Safety verifications, determines repair parts required, performs mechanical maintenance actions and repairs on all positioned equipment at ECS 171 on contract. The Technical Inspector is responsible for the repair and maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment's diagnostic test, using measuring devices, instruments, test equipment, special tools and lifting devices, to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling systems failures IAW appropriate procedures and publications. The Technical Inspector trains, mentors, and enhances the performance of co-workers and other personnel. This position inspects and works on a wide range of civilian vehicles such as light and heavy trucks, forklifts and U.S. military vehicles, their associated trailers and MHE systems such as but not limited to: the newly inducted Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs), High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), Palletized Load Systems (PLSs), Light Medium Tactical Vehicles (LMTVs), Medium Tactical Vehicle (MTVs), High Mobility Engineer Excavator Type I (HMEE-I), 120M Motor Graders and D7RII Mine Clearing Armor Protection Vehicles (MCAs). Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
Essential Duties

Performs FMC + Safety verifications, and determines repair parts required and performs mechanical maintenance actions and repairs on PREPO/GFE equipment and equipment and their sub-systems IAW appropriate procedures and publications, and validates the work performed by others
- Effectively communicates with customers while conducting off site FMC + safety verifications during all cycles of operations.
- Performs Technical Inspections (TI) on various equipment and equipment and their sub-systems meeting any of the following criteria: coming onto the contract; leaving the contract; being transferred; being dispositioned.

Generates reports and documentation necessary for processing ECODs IAW appropriate procedures and publications

Generates and/or maintains both physical and electronic log books and records

Required to participate in and lead on-the-job and other cross-training where required
- As required, provides input for employee performance evaluation comments

Responsible for performing assigned task to standard IAW AR750-1(USARC)

Ensures all work is performed correctly the first time per technical manuals and other publication

Assists and/or performs scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance actions on various materials and handling equipment such as but not limited to: various types and sizes of forklifts (4k to 10k), heavy equipment transport trucks and trailers

Performs diagnostic tests, using measuring devices, instruments, test equipment, special tools and lifting devices, to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling system failures IAW appropriate procedures and publications

Operates/ tests various types of equipment, and attached systems IAW appropriate procedures and publications

Repairs mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and cooling systems and components, on equipment IAW appropriate procedures and publications

Removes, repairs, and replaces engine, drive train and body components of vehicles and equipment IAW appropriate procedures and publications

Ensures work areas meet contract and Company housekeeping requirements in that: the work area is leaned-out and only necessary equipment is present; the necessary equipment is set-in-place per the shop's standardization plan; and shined daily. Performs clean-up no earlier than 15 minutes before shift end unless otherwise directed

Supports/ participates in the Company Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) and QA program

Participates in training and cross-training sessions as required and necessary

Complies with all Company rules, policies and procedures

Complies with all safety, environmental and quality standards and applicable other SOPs

Mitigates risk by always: wearing appropriate PPE; using ground guides when required; properly PMCSs all equipment; wearing seat belts when operating a vehicle; obeying speed limits; properlty disposing and storing hazardous materiel; using three points of contact when required; and adequately stretch as needed

Maintains accountability and provides proper care of all property and government furnished equipment

Favorably interacts with internal/external customers

Conducts daily inventory of assigned tools & equipment

Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Knowledge
-
Must understand and be able to use technical manuals
- Must be able to read complex schematic diagrams
- Field of Expertise: Inspection, trouble shooting, repair and verification of PREPO/GFE equipment.

Must have basic computer operating skills
- Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
- Writes performance evaluation comments and reports when placed in a control/ assignment directive role
- Will be required to be trained in the operation of the STAMIS (GCSS-A) and ALIMS programs and other automation systems
Up-dates technical manuals, and/or NTC checklists

Minimum Requirements:

Must have GCSS-Army experience.
-
Must have at least 5 years of related experience.
-
Must have a class A drivers license.
-
Must Demonstrate a good working knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.

Valid state issued driver license.

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years.
-
Able to function with a basic level of English oral and written language skills.
-
Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, sleet and snow.

Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
-
Able to pick up and move items within a 50 lbs. restriction with a frequent or constant lifting of 40 lbs.

Climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment.
-
Capable of climbing and working on equipment at 10 feet above ground limit.

Capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Able to work past normal hours as mission dictates.
