Job Description
Job Title: Assembly Mechanic - Aircraft Parts and Assemblies
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Fabrication Department Manager
Performs Assembly, Riveting, Sealing, and Paint Touch Up of aircraft component parts and subassemblies.
1. Drill and countersink holes as required to full size dimensions.
2. Layout, drill, form, and trim aircraft sheet metal parts and assemblies.
3. Install solid, blind, or Click Bond fasteners.
4. Mix and perform sealing as required by Job Order instructions.
5. Measure and record dimensions of parts as required by QMS procedures.
6. Participate in process improvements to reduce set up and assembly cycle times.
7. Comply with all safety and environmental regulations.
8. Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service.
9. Ensure cleanliness of work area and 5 S implementation.
Secondary Responsibilites:
1. Participate in cross training of other Fabrication functions to achieve maximum flexibility in personnel.
2. Assist with coordination of production and materials functions.
3. Must own or be willing to acquire their own basic hand tools.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. 2 years of experience in aircraft structures.
3. Ability to identify, install and remove common aircraft fasteners.
4. Effective working knowledge of aircraft assembly, sealing, and riveting procedures.
5. Relevant experience Sheet Metal Fabrication operations.
6. Ability to read blueprints, interpret work instructions and perform precision measurements.
7. Detailed attention to documents and records, strong work ethic and integrity
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to work on feet for a full shift.
2. Exposure to noise, moisture, heat, cold, and general shop environment.
3. Some exposure to solvents and adhesives.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
