J. Steele Services is a sheet metal shop founded in 2009. We design, fabricate, and install precision reproductions of tactical assets which allow training to be conducted in a safe, controlled environment. Our mission at J. Steele Services is to adapt and innovate within the simulator industry. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of both military and commercial sectors in providing custom equipment that offers a realistic training experience. Additionally, we consult with clients on the design and fabrication of original product ideas and prototypes.
We are currently seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator / Fabricator to join our team!
While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all the qualifications but have sufficient experience and talent.
As a Fabricator at J Steele Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Set up and operate TIG and MIG welding machines.
· Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff and smooth surfaces, using hand tools and portable power tools.
· Weld, bolt, rivet, screw, clip, or bond component parts to assemble products, using hand tools, power tools and other various equipment.
· Fabricate or modify parts in a shop setting.
· Operate CNC press brake.
· Read and understand blueprints / drawings.
Qualifications:
· Ability to travel approximately once per year to perform installations on military bases across the country - 3 to 5 week period.
· Ability to perform basic metal fabrication processes – cutting and forming.
· Ability to operate a forklift.
· Ability to pass a background check.
· Ability to properly use measurement equipment (i.e., caliper, tape measure, height gauge, plug gauge, combination square, and protractor).
· Ability to understand and follow method layouts and process notes on routing (work orders).
· Knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials.
· Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, machines, and other various equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
