Responsibilities:
The CNC Programmer/Machinist is a vital member of the Operations Team that focuses on producing parts that meet all Customer specifications at or below standard cost. The CNC Programmer/Machinist will develop programs to produce machined parts on computer numerical control (CNC) mills, swiss/multiswiss lathes, routers, abrasive cutoff, bandsaws, tool presetters, assembly stations, and lasers. Set up and operate CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety standards. The CNC Programmer/Machinist will also be responsible for the production of precision machining and assembly equipment. This position requires an individual with experience in machine shop operations, as well as knowledge of all aspects related to manufacturing processes such as assemblies, assembly procedures, etc. Must be capable of working independently or with team members while maintaining high quality standards.

Knowledge on maintaining and operating CNC machines and other equipment.

Assumes responsibility and determines actions needed to ensure machines continue to produce during shifts.

Knowledge & experience setting up and maintaining tooling for milling and lathe machines. Make tool off-sets, change worn inserts and tooling.

Experience utilizing tool presetters for tooling setup.

Designs, maintains and reinforces safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Understand and is proficient at using necessary measuring instruments.

Be able to read blueprints and produce parts to required specifications.

Be able to learn to reset/fix machine when specific alarm codes are indicated due to tool break or machine malfunction.

Performs/supports required maintenance on the machines and fill out required maintenance associated paperwork.

Maintain a clean work environment.

Clean machined parts.

Experience in operating and setting up CNC mills, swiss/multiswiss lathes, routers, abrasive cutoff, bandsaws, tool presetters, assembly stations, and lasers is preferred.

Familiar with milling and turning tooling with knowledge of metal cutting parameters.

Knowledge of conventional machining, machine controls, program codes, fixtures and tool offsets, and CNC systems.

Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Experience setting up efficient production machining lines/operations and driving cost out of processes.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED is required.

Solidworks experience.

MasterCAM or equivalent CAD/CAM Package experience.

Experience programming CNC Milling / Swiss CNC Machines

Multi axis experience is preferred

Experience with diagnosing machine failures and perform repairs as required.

Experience setting up and operating wet abrasive cutoff or bandsaws.

Experience operating and maintaining assembly stations.

Previous experience assisting quotations and cycle time simulations preferred.

Demonstrated experience laying out complete machined product processes to produce part from raw stock to finished parts.
