POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Material Handler will report to the Warehouse Manager or his designee. The responsibilities include accurately organizing and coordinating customer-related documents, such as grouping by name, delivery date, and location. The job typically requires the ability to read shipping documents or equivalent. Work includes pulling orders together and assembling them for shipment to customers or distribution centers. Additional duties may include: Using shrink wrap machines, labeling, and shrink-wrap orders, gathering or distributing products or materials within the area, clean and organizing assigned aisles; some packaging may be required. Incumbents will use a stock picker forklift machine to pick up orders; maintain proper care of the Stock Picker equipment, including checking the water level and the battery. Workers use barcode readers, computer terminals, or other electronic devices to track products and assist in loading containers. In addition to the stock picking duties as a Lead Material Handler, the incumbent will assist with the day-to-day warehouse operation. Provides support and guidance for warehouse employees in the team. Ensure a well-coordinated environment, maintain safe work practices, and oversee inventory control procedures ensuring the maximum safeguard of the company’s physical inventory. Assure all necessary documentation for outbound shipments is in order, and coordination of outbound shipments from warehouse to customers. Overtime will be required; Must have a Flexible schedule. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Organizing and coordinating customer-related documents

Read orders to ascertain sizes and quantities of merchandise

Obtain merchandise from bins or shelves

Complete order receipts

Prepare merchandise by labeling and placing it on pallets and the wrapping machine.

Clean and organize assigned aisle

Pick orders received by the Warehouse Department using the Stock Picker machine.

Load containers and assist in checking inventory

Lift cases and put them on pallets to be shipped out

Hand stack containers as needed

Assist drivers as needed

Maintain proper care of the Stock Picker equipment, including checking the battery's water level.

Perform other related duties.

Proactive communication to internal contacts regarding warehouse processes that impact customers and transportation.

Responsible for maintaining high standards related to the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment.

Troubleshoot any issues which will affect the timely delivery of orders.

Plan daily and weekly production activities when necessary.

Ensure company-sponsored safety programs are administered correctly according to best practices.

Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.

Assist in coordinating all changes in procedures, duties, hours, and personnel with the direction of Management.

Review all orders to ensure the highest accuracy is provided to all customers.

Responsible for demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement, identifying and responding actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers, and being open and responsive to change.

Work with other department managers/supervisors/leads to develop inter-department relationships and improves processes.

Ensure all orders are met on time without exception.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED, or a combination of experience and/or education in a related field. 2-3 years of forklift and warehouse experience. Forklift Certification is required. Experienced driving a Stock Picker is needed. Previous RF Smart
(bar code scanning) experience is preferred.
