We are seeking a cost accountant whom will monitor costs of goods sold, like labor and production expenses. This role also manages inventory, addressing issues like shortages or extra costs. The accountant will analyze cost differences and inventory challenges, providing reports to senior leaders.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data about operational costs, including labor, material, and production costs.
- Develop and analyze cost standards and coordinate inventory related activities with management, including analysis, reporting, cycle count, and inventory adjustments.
- Conduct cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis.
- Determine costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
- Perform account reconciliations, including accurately reporting trends and training staff.
- Prepare audit reports and present their findings to management.
- Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit.
- Advise executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data.
- Manage the company’s balance sheet and accounting books.
- Support other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure.
- Identify, recommend, implement, and enforce best practices to maintain a dynamic work culture focused on results and improving performance.

Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience in cost accountant roles, manufacturing preferred.
- Bilingual: Spanish required.
- Associate degree in finance or accounting; bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting preferred but not required.
- Proficient with accounting software and data collection and analysis tools.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Accounting principles and practices.
- Basic accounting knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of inventory processes.
- Knowledge of various computer software programs including Excel, Word, and Accounting, Payroll and Time Systems.
- Complex solving skills identifying problems and making recommendations.
- Excellent organization, verbal, and written
