The Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing technical expertise, support, and repairs for the facility and equipment in a pet food manufacturing plant. The primary focus of this position will be maintaining and repairing process equipment and controls with the primary goal of keeping the facility operational at all times. Works under the direction of the Maintenance Work Lead.
Essential Job Duties:
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Support the process as needed.
- Perform corrective or preventative maintenance on all facility systems and process equipment
- Diagnose/Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with limited oversight.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Ability to identify parts and part numbers/descriptions.
- Repair equipment
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read/write in English
- Experience: Maintenance experience in an industrial setting preferred.
- Ability to identify and properly use common hand tools, and tools common to an industrial production facility.
- Working knowledge of MS Office software.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation/process control (flow, pressure, temperature, weighing) and industrial electrical systems (starters, VFDs, contractors, 3 phase power).
- Experience working with manufacturing equipment such as driers, fluid pumps, conveyors (pneumatic, screw, belt, vibrating), instrumentation (temperature, flow, scales, etc.), ovens, motors, gearboxes, fans, extruders, grinders, scales, metal detection, palletizers, bag fillers.
- Proficient in troubleshooting.
- Experience in food or beverage manufacturing preferred.
