Surgical Scheduler & Patient Service Representative Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Surgical Scheduler / Patient Service Representative to join our growing healthcare team. In this role, you will work at the reception desks of our medical office and assist our patients and other visitors. Your primary job duties will include greeting and checking in/out patients, answering telephone, entering patient demographics and insurance information, collecting patient co-pay/balance, processing paperwork, and scheduling surgeries and appointments. You will also help keep our records and work areas clean and organized, as well as ensure our office provides a welcoming environment for our patients.
Medical Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet patients and other visitors when they arrive
- Answer patient questions and provide assistance when necessary
- Register all new patient demographics and insurance information
- Schedule appointments
- Appointment reminder calls to patients
- Distribute forms and paperwork to patients and check them over to ensure that required fields are completed properly
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balance
- Field phone calls and respond to emails
- Import medical records into the EMR
Medical Receptionist Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience working as an administrative assistant or in a relevant role a plus
- Familiar with medical terminology
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Medical record maintenance
- Process clinical documents
- Chart prep hard copies as needed prior to clinic visit
- Maintain log for incomplete/pending addendums
Surgical Scheuler
- Meet with patients to discuss surgical details
- Obtain pre-authorizations for surgery
- Schedule surgery sites
- Collect pre-op copays
- Provide post-operative resources
Medical Assistant
- Perform clinical patient care functions in Lee & Collier counties
- Take vitals, patient history, triage - present patient case to provider
- Prepare medical chart in advance of patient appointment
- Ensure patient care levels are exceptional

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
