SUMMARY
The Lead Assembler is responsible for assisting and/or representing the supervisor by coordinating all assembly activities. Responsible for the assembly of machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Following technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms.
- Monitor and coach assembly production workers, providing feedback on quality of work and guidance to improve competency.
- Ensure assembly personnel are fully trained to perform assigned tasks, including conducting training as deemed necessary.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hoists.
- Use various machines and hand tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.
- Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Inventories tools, parts, and supplies; contacts materials handler if supplies are needed.
- Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists/fills in for shift supervisor when needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent; two to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read technical specifications, blueprint drawings and fit-up procedures required.
- Ability to operate PC and standard office equipment. Microsoft Office proficiency required, and ERP experience preferred.
- Must possess, or successfully complete, an in-house fork truck operation course and obtain a license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluency in English is required. The ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and the ability to effectively present information to all levels of employees including top management in a variety of settings is required.
REASONING ABILITY
The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists is required. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described in this section are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, walk, hear, reach with hands and arms, stoop and bend. The employee must seldom lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The production area temperatures can fluctuate significantly based on the time of year. The noise levels can be moderate to high. The use of hearing protection and safety eyewear is required while on production floor. The use of additional specific safety equipment may be required. The noise level in the office is usually quiet. The noise level in production is usually moderate.
WORK AVAILABLITY AND TRAVEL
Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work.
