Job Summary:
A growing manufacturing company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk with additional HR assistance responsibilities. This dual-role position involves performing a variety of accounting tasks alongside supporting HR functions. The ideal candidate will possess a desire to develop strong accounting and HR skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:Accounting Duties:
- Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, verify financial data, and prepare payments for approval. Monitor and track accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized and updated financial records and documents.
- Reporting: Generate reports and summaries as required by management.
- Maintaining Spreadsheets: Keep various financial spreadsheets up to date, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
HR Assistance Duties:
- Onboarding New Employees: Assist with the onboarding process, including preparing new hire documentation, setting up employee files, and preparing orientation sessions.
- Time Cards Preparation: Collect, review, and prepare employee time cards for payroll processing.
- Payroll Support: Assist in preparing payroll, helping to ensure accurate records.
- HR Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date HR records, including employee files and HR spreadsheets.
- Communication: Serve as a second point of contact for employee queries related to payroll, benefits, and HR policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- General office environment with occasional light lifting.
