Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic, goal-oriented Area Director of Sales to join our growing team! DOS will be responsible for overlooking the company's current portfolio as well as new/future developments. Promotion to new new developments will be based upon performance of present role, salary would be evaluated with any new roles and responsibilities. Candidate must possess a self-driven attitude, strong selling and closing skills, and a positive, ambitious personality. Experience with new hotel opening is preferred.
As Area Director of Sales, you will manage all aspects of the sales and marketing division by providing and executing the strategic vision for maximum sales generation and revenue growth. You must grow and maintain new relationships while building rapport and upholding relevance within market. DOS should cultivate, enhance and leverage external and internal relationships to elevate hotel and market share awareness and to drive business. This includes but is not limited to networking within community, conducting outside sales calls, leading site tours, and collaborating with the Area General Manager. The Area Director of Sales will be responsible for generating and analyzing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales reporting to track progress against sales goals inclusive of action plans and activity logs. DOS must maintain communication with General Manager and conduct weekly meetings.

Job Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required. Five years of experience within hotel sales with two years proven success in a leadership role (i.e. Director, Head of Group Sales, etc.) is required. Highly proficient written and verbal English communication skills necessary to effectively negotiate, influence, and sell are critical. Expect weekly local travel. Some domestic travel 1-2 times a year. Experience with opening a new hotel is preferred.
JOB DUTIES
· Possess thorough knowledge of corporate business, SMERF, and group business within market area.
· Ability to develop and execute a timely Sales Action Plan.
· Must log all activities in sales information system and provide to leadership team with weekly recap.
· Thorough understanding of hotel revenue management.
· Must be able to close sales and meet deadline driven sales targets.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, efficient time-management skills, and action-oriented.
· Experienced in thorough selling techniques: opening, qualifying, meeting needs, and closing.
· Must be proficient in general computer and sales software knowledge.
· Strong understanding of guest needs and requirements.
· Ability to work as a team with General Manager to achieve hotel’s key metrics.
· Other duties as assigned by management
