Certified Psychiatric Medical Assistant
Uptown Psych is a comprehensive outpatient mental health clinic in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago, IL. We see Chicago's Uptown neighborhood. We are seeking a Certified Psychiatric Medical Assistant for a Full-time In-Office position Certified Psychiatric Medical Assistant for a Full-time In-Office position in Chicago, IL.
Uptown Psych was established in 2011 to bring the best evidence-based, comprehensive behavioral health services to the Chicagoland area. Our team of leading mental health professionals comprises licensed psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and clinical therapists who value highly personalized treatment plans to ensure our patients receive the most optimal care. We are available to serve patients from adolescence through all stages of adulthood with most emotional and mental health needs, such as ADHD, Adjustment Disorder, Agoraphobia, Anger Management, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Grief, Relationship Issues, Schizophrenia, Stress Management, OCD, PTSD and more.
Uptown Psych offers medication management, pharmacotherapy, and psychotherapy services and is a certified Spravato Treatment center. Training or experience in this area will be viewed favorably but is not required.

Requirements:
Required to be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, possess good analytical skills, and be able to work well under pressure
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
Ability to operate collaboratively, seek guidance when appropriate, value input on a wide range of issues, lead by example, and work independently
Experience or interest in mental health, healthcare, or a related field is encouraged.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Room patients and collect medical history
Collect and record vitals.
Maintain treatment rooms are clean, orderly, and stocked with supplies.
Patient phone calls with accurate documentation.
On-going support to prescribers (e.g., refer, referrals, labs, communication entry, patient education, recall list, controlled substance state database, etc.)
Administer medications/injections as directed by the prescriber.
Monitor patients (report adverse reactions to medication/injections to prescriber immediately)
Submit enrollment and savings cards for patients.
Accept medication delivery
Maintain accurate medication logs (e.g., on-site, dispensed, samples, and fridge/freezer temps.)
Audit medication closet per protocol.
Maintain medical supplies and submitted order list to OM.
Provide backup to administrative staff to support operational needs.
Facilitate collection and record of all necessary information required for patient visits (e.g., vitals, medical history.
Full understanding of all regulatory compliance requirements related to HIPAA and mental health to ensure patient rights and confidentiality.
