Sr. Digital Marketing Manager
The mission of Special Olympics Northern California (SONC) is to create an inclusive community where people with & without disabilities can make connections, develop healthy lifestyles, achieve success, and experience the joy of sports.
Position Summary :
The Sr. Digital Marketing Manager will oversee digital marketing strategy & execution for various fundraising & sporting events, as well as health & wellness, schools, leadership, government & brand-focused initiatives throughout the year, while adhering to a non-profit budget. They will drive & strengthen the organization’s email marketing efforts, grow SONC’s social media footprint & its engagement, increase traffic to & engagement with the sonc.org website, and lead all paid digital media campaigns, in order to enhance retention & growth plans.
In addition, the Sr. Digital Marketing Manager will develop & lead the chapter’s overall messaging narrative, as well as craft new brand & event storylines that will, not only influence all digital content, but drive the larger SONC voice.
Responsible for :
● Driving Digital Marketing strategy (email marketing, social media, & website) and determining measurable KPIs.
● Further-developing & solidifying SONC’s voice & tone.
● Leaning into data & providing analysis (i.e. conducting market research, managing Google Analytics, A / B testing, pixel & UTM tracking, etc.)
● Deploying off-channel digital media buys (including Search, optimizing NorCal’s Google Ad Grant, etc.) to promote the brand, event tentpoles, fundraising activities, and other key initiatives.
● Exploring Marketing Artificial Intelligence (AI).
● Project Management (strategy to execution).
● Orchestrating messaging efforts and overall NorCal narrative.
● Serving as a company spokesperson.
● Creating, seeding & distributing content, as well as managing content calendars
● Crafting storylines, capturing photography & video, editing video, writing & editing copy / speeches / scripts / comms / press releases, etc.
● Leaning into influencer marketing (including local icons, such as pro, Name/Image/Likeness (NIL), & amateur athletes, entertainers / celebrities, politicians, sponsor executives, etc.).
● Supporting Sponsorship Marketing collaboration & execution, in order to drive revenue.
● Supporting national & global Special Olympics initiatives (i.e. Special Olympics North America, Special Olympics International, USA Games, World Games, etc.).
● Cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders (both internal clients / departments & external vendors / agencies).
● Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, & Experience :
● Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience in Marketing or related discipline.
● Expertise in email marketing platforms (i.e. Mailchimp / Salesforce / HubSpot).
● Diverse, proficient social media skills (i.e. Meta, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
● Demonstrated advanced expertise in project management software (i.e., Asana).
● Superior time-management & multi-tasking skillset.
● Proficiency in UX design.
● Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
● Fluency in planning & forecasting budgets.
● Proficient knowledge & understanding of sponsorship activation & revenue generation.
● A confidence & comfort in working with staff at all levels of the organization as well as external organizations; including experience and comfort working with C-suite executives.
● Proven leadership experience and ability to coach, mentor, & lead staff.
● Multilingual skills are an added bonus.
