Job Description
Role
Mission-focused, strategic, and data-minded data engineer with experience designing, implementing, and maintaining data warehouses, data pipelines, and spearheading ad-hoc development efforts.
The Data Engineer will be responsible for the planning, development and execution of our organization's data reporting needs. This role plays a vital role in the company’s daily operations and business strategy. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, the Data Engineer’s primary responsibilities are to ensure the company understands the business metrics, develop a full knowledge of our product and reporting platforms, and help determine where the company can improve our data accessibility.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the Data Science and Product Development Teams to implement and maintain Azure Data Factory
- Critically evaluate and merge data from multiple source systems
- Deliver informative, well-organized project updates - communicate, prioritize, track, and resolve issues in a timely fashion
- Work with the Data Science and Product Development Teams in the day-to-day execution of projects, ensuring they meet quality expectations and achieve goals
- Help foster a collaborative and supportive team culture where team members are encouraged to excel and contribute their best efforts
- Collaborate with other departments to gather project requirements and ensure alignment with company objectives
- Identify and address any technical or data science challenges or roadblocks that may arise during project execution
- Contribute as a team member on strategic and/or routine projects as needed
Experience Required:
- Data engineering experience: 3+ years with a bachelor’s degree or 1+ years with a master’s degree
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field of study
- Experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining data warehouses
- Experience in Azure and Azure DevOps (ADO)
- Experience writing T-SQL queries
- Experience programming utilizing REST APIs
- Advanced proficiency in Python - please note all programming proficiencies on your application
Additional Skills:
- Ability to take large datasets and structure into high level dashboards for multiple departments within the company
- Proven self starter who can manage deliverables and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment for a growing company
- Ability to liaise with all business teams to understand and translate business needs into dashboards and analytics
- Knowledge of information systems design principles and systems design techniques
- A proven interest in learning new technologies and languages a plus
- Experience with Zendesk is a plus
- Experience with Azure Data Factory is a plus
- Familiarity with healthcare and health-related data is a plus
