Reports to Accounts Payable Manager

Objective and Purpose:
As the Temporary Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for all aspects of the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintaining vendor records, and supporting the overall financial operations of the company. The role is ideal for individuals who are detail oriented with a strong background in accounts payable, looking for a temporary assignment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, and verify invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system.
- Process electronic transfers and payments.
- Maintain and update vendor files and records.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
- Prepare analysis of accounts and monitor aging reports.
- Assist in month-end closing by providing necessary reports and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience; temporary or contract experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and a team-oriented attitude.

Work Conditions:
- Temporary, full-time position based in an office environment.
- Duration of employment will be [3 months], with potential for extension based on business needs.
- Candidate must be able to work in office 5 days a week.
- May require occasional overtime, particularly during peak periods.
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.
- Candidate must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
Compensation: $23 to $28 / Hour
