JOB SUMMARY:
THE BELL/VALET CLERK IS RESPONSIBLE FOR REPRESENTING THE HOTEL AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE BY GREETING ARRIVING AND DEPARTING
GUESTS WITH A TRUE SENSE OF ALOHA. ENSURES OPTIMAL ORGANIZATION OF BELL/VALET DUTIES TO MAXIMIZE EFFICIENCY IN THE
DEPARTMENT.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manage bell calls for bag-pulls, cart assists, and guest requests, and delegates to Bell/Shuttle Drivers.
· Dispatch all shuttle calls and logs pick-up and drop-off requests.
· Maintains proper rotation of duties between Bell / Shuttle Drivers.
· Coordinate and log all movements, deliveries, etc.
· Maintain organization and cleanliness of the bell desk and storage.
· Greet guests with leis upon arrival and escort to the front desk for check-in.
· Keep track of departing and arriving luggage with proper tagging to ensure appropriate delivery or storage.
· Maintains beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. as well as logging all beach items going in and out.
· Communicates with Guest Service Agents and other departments as needed.
· Periodically inspect hotel cars, Jeep, and bell carts for cleanliness.
· Keep track of Hotel updates using email and ALICE account. Relays information/pre-shifts all Bell / Shuttle
Drivers.
· Assist in arranging service and maintenance of Hotel vehicles.
· Monitor inventory of bell desk stationary/supplies and proactively submit requests to manager to
replenish.
· Manage cash transactions for Bell / Shuttle Drivers.
· Answer phone calls.
· Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
· Perform other related duties assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Valid/current driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
- Computer skills.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- One (1) - two (2) years of Hotel Guest Service and/or valet experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs on a continuous basis.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to endure exposure to outdoor elements (i.e. sun, rain, etc.).
