THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an immediate opening for a 1:1 Instructional Aide to join our team. This is a full-time position through May 2025 with the possibility to convert to a long-term position based on school needs. This is for an amazing opportunity in our brand new Social/Emotional Teaching And Reinforcement (STAR) Center throughout the school day, and will oversee the integrity of the programming and all service activities that occur for assigned students. The STAR Center aims to deliver a transformative educational experience to middle school students who need specialized instruction focused on mental health and behavioral support. Our mission is to foster a safe, joyful, and consistent academic environment where students can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically.
Roles and responsibilities of the 1:1 Instructional Aide include:

Assist the scholar one on one with all instructional and non-instructional tasks as assigned by the teacher

Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the scholar at all times

Support/Assist the lead teacher, including but not limited to:

Preparing and setting up activities

Implementing portions of the lessons as directed by the lead teacher

Assisting in keeping the classroom and storage areas clean, neat, and orderly

Attending weekly classroom/team meetings

Be familiar with state Special Education regulations

Review with teacher or IEP team to become familiar with the scholar's Individualized Educational Plan

Assist with non-instructional duties as required

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred

1+ years of experience working with K-8 students in a school setting

Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills and the ability to work well with a team

Current Educational Aide Permit or qualified to be licensed as an Educational Aide through the Ohio Department of Education
