Directed and supervised by the Director of Operations, the General Manager is responsible for the effective operation of assigned divisions to include supervision, evaluation, planning and enhancement of production, safety, transportation, and facility activities. This position adheres to the philosophy, policies, and procedures of VARC, Inc.
Essential Functions
1. Supervises, on-boards, trains, and evaluates designated staff.
2. Ensures all designated staff are trained and up to date in required VARC safety programs and on-the-job training experiences.
3. Confers on a regular basis with the Director of Operations concerning production setup, production priorities, schedules, workflow, etc.
4. Prepares and processes documentation in a timely manner and communicates results to the Director of Operations as directed.
5. Responsible for maintenance of all assigned property including buildings, inventory, fixtures, vehicles, parking facilities, etc.
6. Ensures effective communication with staff, clients, corporate office, transportation and the community.
7. Ensures the development of designated staff members and effectively manages the diversity of customers.
8. Acts as liaison between VARC and community businesses and organizations.
9. Maintains a productive production area that meets quotas, maintains a clean, organized work floor and follows current standards.
10. Assists with data entry tasks including job order processing, packing slips, bill of ladings and accurately maintaining inventory counts.
11. Responsible for implementation of VARC’s Quality Management System.
12. Reviews all job operations, specifications, quality control, and is responsible for production setup, as described by job order.
13. Supervises division transportation services including supervision of drivers and support staff, maintenance of vehicles, planning and scheduling routes.
14. Responsible for the maintenance and implementation of VARC’s Safety Program and adherence to OSHA regulations.
15. Responsible for meeting and exceeding agency goals.
16. Participates in scheduled management meetings and provides division updates, progress on assigned projects, and input into agency operations.
17. May serve as representative on assigned committees or focus groups.
18. Assists in long and short term organizational strategic planning.
19. Accepts other duties as assigned.

1. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to represent VARC, Inc. to various organizations in a professional manner.
2. Sound decision-making skills for problem solving and significant number of supervisory decisions.
3. Planning skills in order to plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines, standards and organizational needs, planning skills for facility development.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years management experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
