Natural Resources Solutions, LC (NRS) is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team. NRS is a small environmental and personal services consulting company. We are seeking a Professional Licensed Civil Engineer with at least 5 years of work experience in civil engineering positions. Five to ten years of experience in the civil engineering field is preferred. This position is located in our Austin, Texas Office.
Candidates for this position will possess the skills, abilities, and desire to design and monitor the completion of a variety of infrastructure projects, including water availability, flood or stormwater projects, transportation projects relative to flood or stormwater circumstances, transportation safety activities, and diverse land use projects.
The preferred candidate will have experience in various civil engineering projects, and will use their strong technical expertise in planning, design, analysis, and post project completion monitoring and reporting. They will manage several projects and will be accountable for the technical quality of the projects. This job also includes contributing to project proposals and grant requests to fund new business opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Uses professional judgment to independently design and complete engineering tasks within federal, state, and local established criteria.
- Completes major design tasks that meet the needs of internal and external customers.
- Monitors and pro-actively identifies or corrects technical issues, project designs, etc.
- Monitors construction and project implementation, including engineering inspections.
- Participates in the preparation of proposals, including the calculation/estimation of time schedules and costs of proposed projects.
- Signs and seals engineering documents as an authorized representative of the company.

This position is advertised for our Austin, Texas Office. There will be occasional travel (not typically overnight) to our other office location in Gatesville, Texas and to meet with clients at various Texas locations. Work is performed in a typical office setting, and you must be commute-ready, as this is NOT a remote job or a hybrid job opportunity. Work hours are in the Austin Office from 8 AM – 5 PM Monday through Friday.
NRS offers a competitive employment package with a salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year (depending on experience) with generous time off (PTO) and observance of common holidays. We offer insurance and 401(k) with employer contributions. This position is eligible for incentive bonuses throughout the year. Qualified Candidates will possess the following Required Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s (BS) degree from an accredited four-year university or graduate program in engineering, with a concentration on civil engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a professional engineer
- A Professional Engineer (P.E.) License from the Texas State Board of Professional Engineers
- Experience designing, reviewing, permitting and/or approving civil engineer projects (e.g., water-related, transportation, land development or other infrastructure projects)
Preferred Candidates will also possess the following:
A master’s degree in an engineering or engineering-related field
Five to ten years of experience in the civil engineering field
