MISSION
The Modeling & Simulation Engineer is responsible for conducting numerical simulations for various projects under development and in production, developing new analysis techniques for solving development and production issues, and assisting in strategic decisions regarding hardware, software and analysis techniques. Work is performed in a fast paced environment within tight time constraints.
Responsibilities & Activities
Responsibility 1: Support product development and industrial teams by conducting numerical simulations
- Identify, coordinate and build finite element models as required
- Request the required input data (test conditions, material properties, design data, manufacturing tools and methods)
- Determine the required steps, models and iterations necessary to fully analyze the problem
- Identify the required timing necessary to complete the study
- Formalize results into reports for internal and/or external customers
- Present simulation predictions and design recommendations to internal and/or external customers
Responsibility 2: Participate in the continuous improvement of simulations
- Validate results
- Identify best practices and methods for each type of analysis
- Define and develop simulation tools
- Participate on global simulation team and make recommendations for the enhancement of tools, processes and procedures
Responsibility 3: Justify cost/benefit of simulation through financial analysis
Responsibility 4: Develop advanced engineering analysis capabilities
Responsibility 5: Evaluate hardware and software in terms of gaining accuracy, productivity, and capacity
Responsibility 6: Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturing: participate in prototype runs and seek advice from processing experts
