There’s two types of CPA firms that could offer you the fully remote Tax Manager position you’ve been looking for.
Those that do it out of desperation and an inability to hire people locally.
Then there’s those that do it properly.
They have the systems and processes to allow you to work effectively on a remote basis.
They’ll integrate you into the firm in the best way possible – so that you feel a part of something.
They have clear and effective channels of communication, so you know what’s going on in the firm and what’s expected of you.
They focus on the results and outcomes you deliver, rather than your activity and facetime.
They recognise how important you can be in the growth and success of the firm.
We’re helping a firm hire a remote Tax Manager.
They fall into the second category.
They’re pretty good at this remote thing. Mainly because they’ve been doing it since 2001 (the same year that Apple released their second generation I-Pod).
Over half of the workforce are fully remote so you’ll be in good company.
You’ll be reviewing complex returns (mainly entities but a few 1040’s too). For a small firm, they have some very complex clients too.
They use the CCH suite, so having a knowledge of this will certainly help.
You could be from a larger firm, wanting to be part of a smaller set up or you could be in a small firm at the moment who are scaling back on remote.
