Job Description:
The Chief Pilot will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Magnifica Airline's fleet. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a pilot, excellent leadership and management skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all aviation regulations, including safety standards and procedures.
- Develop and maintain training programs for pilots and flight crews.
- Oversee Hiring and Development of Flight Crews
- Manage flight crew schedules and assignments.
- Work with the Director of Operations to develop policies and procedures for flight operations.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure that aircraft are maintained in accordance with manufacturer and FAA requirements.
- Act as a liaison with external agencies, such as regulatory bodies and aviation authorities.
- Ensure that all flight operations are conducted in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with appropriate category and class ratings
- Part 121 and 135 Experience
- Typed in Airbus A321 and A220-300
- Minimum of 5,000 hours total flight time, including 3,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Chief Pilot position at Magnifica Airline:
- Safety Management: The Chief Pilot is responsible for ensuring that all flight operations are conducted in accordance with Magnifica Airline's Safety Management System (SMS). This includes the identification and assessment of hazards, the implementation of risk controls, and the monitoring and reporting of safety performance.
- Crew Resource Management: All flight crew members must adhere to Magnifica Airline's Crew Resource Management (CRM) policies and procedures. This includes effective communication, decision-making, and workload management.
- Training and Qualifications: The Chief Pilot is responsible for ensuring that all flight crew members are properly trained and qualified for their respective positions. This includes initial and recurrent training, as well as proficiency checks and evaluations.
- Aircraft Maintenance: The Chief Pilot is responsible for working with the Director of Maintenance to ensure that all aircraft are maintained in accordance with manufacturer and FAA requirements. This includes scheduling and conducting regular inspections, as well as addressing any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
- Regulatory Compliance: The Chief Pilot is responsible for ensuring that all flight operations are conducted in compliance with FAA regulations and Magnifica Airline's policies and procedures.
- Emergency Response: The Chief Pilot is responsible for ensuring that all flight crew members are trained in emergency procedures and that appropriate emergency response plans are in place for each aircraft.
- Record Keeping: The Chief Pilot is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all flight operations, including flight logs, crew schedules, and maintenance records.
- Communication: The Chief Pilot is responsible for maintaining effective communication with all members of the flight crew, as well as other departments within Magnifica Airline. This includes pre-flight briefings, in-flight communication, and post-flight debriefings.
- Continuous Improvement: The Chief Pilot is responsible for continuously improving flight operations by identifying opportunities for improvement, implementing best practices, and monitoring and evaluating performance.
