Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTIONS
Responsible for supervision, safety and training of clients with developmental disabilities in Residential Facility Program.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direct care, training, and supervision to residents
- Assists residents with individual living skills
- Be ready at all times to assist residents where and when there is a need
- Implements activities schedule
- Assists residents with chores and scheduled activities
- Assists with meal preparation
- Processes proper dispensing of medications
- Implements training methods to assist residents in achieving IPP objectives
- Documents client progress on objectives and any significant issues or occurrences
- Completes and ensures timely submission of incident reports as required
- Participates in the inter-disciplinary team process as needed
- Ensures compliance with facility policies and procedures
- Performs housekeeping duties as necessary to keep facility clean and orderly
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 21 years or older
- Department of Justice fingerprint clearance
- Health Screening and TB Test clearance
- Current First Aid Certification
- CPR Certification prior to starting employment
- Valid California Driver's License
- Acceptable driving record
- State minimum required automobile insurance
- Ability to read, understand and comply with Welfare Codes Title 22, Title 17, and Regional Center regulations
- Good role model for residents
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience supervising / working with adults with developmental disabilities
PHYSICAL ABILITIES
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time
- Dexterity to assist with recording client data and complete reports
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and demonstrate sufficient balance and coordination so that carrying objects posses no danger to self or others
- Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling to provide training or retrieve stored material
- Good hearing and vision to maintain client activities, provide work and non-work training and perform other duties
- Good general health and mobility
MENTAL ABILITIES
- Ability to understand and translate instructions
- Ability to communicate with low functioning residents and supervisor
- Basic math skills to complete client records, reports and time cards
- Writing skills to complete reports and client ID Notes
- Ability to be observant and have flexibility that allows him/her to handle multiple tasks and possess judgment necessary to make decisions relative to service quality and safety

- Reports to the Program Administrator

$16.00-$18.74 per hour
