JEM Technical designs and manufactures custom valves and controls for Fluid Power Applications. (earth-movers, mowers, Utility trucks, farm equipment, skid-steer loaders and attachments, trailers, military dump trucks, snow plows, and material testing systems) We maintain complete control of the process from beginning to end. JEM Technical is committed to advancing OEM and end-users with our Fluid Power and Controls applications.
Our production equipment includes modern palletized CNC Machining Centers. We have three Mazak HCN-5000 and four Mazak PHF/FH-4800 horizontal flexible manufacturing systems. We also have two stand-alone Makino A61 and Makino NX horizontal machining centers.
Position Summary:
The CNC Machinist I is required to secure work pieces onto holding fixtures and set up machines to meet quality standards within established timelines.
Areas of Accountability:
1. Prioritizes and completes work for the shift. Follows daily work schedule as established by the CNC Mill Machinist Lead and/or Director of Operations. Verifies work is completed within the appropriate timeframe and quality requirements.*
2. Focuses on continuous improvement in the areas of machining methods and processes. Recommends changes when appropriate.*
3. Confers with Director of Operations, CNC Mill Machinist Lead and employees from other departments to confirm status of work and timelines.*
4. Performs all essential machining operations; interprets blueprints and related technical data.*
5. Operates CNC machinery, including drilling, milling, reaming, boring and threading.*
6. Assists Set-up Machinist in selecting and installing proper tooling; mounts, aligns and secures work pieces on holding fixtures; and maintains and changes work holding equipment.*
7. Assists Set-up Machinist with first piece, in process and last piece inspections to obtain training and experience in the inspection process.*
8. Assists Maintenance Technician in daily Preventative Maintenance on CNC Machinery.
9. Ensures machine shop is clean and orderly.*
10. Complies with all JEM policies and procedures, including ISO, OSHA and AWAIR requirements.*
11. Supports JEM’s vision and mission, and exemplifies JEM’s core values daily. *
12. Maintains regular and predictable attendance.*
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Demands:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision and Depth perception. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Requirements:
- At least one-year related experience in a machining environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic computer skills

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
