Regency Home Health is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Registered Nurse to join our healthcare and education team. The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care and support the needs of patients in various medical settings, specifically with pediatric patients.
This position is a Monday - Thursday 4-5 hours days for an average of 20-25 hours per week starting ASAP through the summer and into the fall working 1:1 with a medically fragile student.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized nursing care to medically fragile children in a school environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Monitor and assess the health status of each student, including vital signs, respiratory function, and overall medical condition.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for each student.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including medication administration records, treatment plans, and incident reports.
- Educate and train school personnel on emergency procedures and the management of specific medical conditions.
- Advocate for the needs and rights of medically fragile children, ensuring their inclusion and participation in all school activities.
Requirements:
- Valid NH RN
- Experience working with medically fragile children, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
- Knowledge of common medical conditions and treatments for children with complex medical needs.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make quick and accurate decisions in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and healthcare professionals.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor, with the ability to provide emotional support to students and their families.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards of nursing practice.
