SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Senior Director of Long Term Care Services provides leadership, direction, and strategic initiatives for the County’s healthcare organizations including the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and the Ernest P. Barks Assisted Living Community in alignment with the Board of Commissioners. Further, the Senior Director oversees the management, operations, and clinical aspects of the County’s long term care program and services in compliance with all federal, state, and County policies, rules, regulations, and statutes. Additionally, establishes strategic and financial goals for the long term care facility/monitors program performance.

The Senior Director of Long Term Care Services develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates strategic plans and policies to ensure the long-term viability of the community. This position is responsible to ensure continuity of care is provided for up to 250 residents and clients through nursing/caregiving, social services, food services, medical services, therapeutic activity programs, pharmaceutical services, rehabilitation services, mental health services, and ancillary services/supplies and further ensures these programs/services are to standard by maintaining regular meetings and fostering an environment that recognizes quality care/identifies areas of improvement. As the developer of the Senior Leadership Team for the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center/Assisted Living Community, the Senior Director promotes leadership skills and continuing education through principles of teambuilding/motivation and additionally, conducts themselves with personal integrity that earns the confidence, trust, and respect of all leaders/staff, residents/clients, elected officials, families, vendors, and the general public. Further, this position develops and manages the annual operating budget by analyzing trends to effectively utilize fiscal resources, and directly oversees the responsibility for financial records, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and residents’ personal need accounts to the Fiscal Services Manager, and further, manages all purchases/bids/request for proposals for equipment, supplies, and contracted services. The Senior Director develops, implements, and monitors recruitment, development, evaluation, and employee retention programs, including establishing appropriate staffing standards and collaborating with Human Resources to create, modify, and review job descriptions. Serving as the Compliance Officer, the Senior Director is responsible for client/resident HIPAA security privacy, compliance activities (including state survey), PHI/Code of Conduct training, and identifying areas of potential legal liability to develop/implement risk management programs. Requires availability outside of normal business hours to ensure the safety of our residents and facility during times of need, including being accessible on-call 24/7, and ability to work varying shifts and weekends as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; course of study must meet the requirements of the New Hampshire Board of Nursing Home Administrators.
- Master’s Degree highly preferred; and
- Five (5) to (10) years of Long Term Care (or equivalent) managerial experience.
- An equivalent combination of education, work and experience will be considered.
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid New Hampshire Nursing Home Administrator license.
- Certified Residential Care and Assisted Living Administrator.
- Valid driver’s license.
