Job Summary:
The Donor Data Analyst helps fulfill the mission of DBL and plays a key role in cultivating and stewarding existing donors and securing new prospective donors in support of DBL’s key programs. This individual works in synergy with key staff within the Development and Marketing departments to ensure that messaging and marketing are on target, gifts are timely and appropriately entered the Blackbaud CRM and tracked and making an impactful difference. This role is the key resource for database management and internal processes for gifts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Donor Services:

Prepare and maintain electronic copy records related to donors, gifts, and grants.

Input daily data and track donor gifts in Raiser’s Edge NXT database.

Run daily donor wealth and capacity screening reports via Research Point, indicating a person’s capacity to give and be engaged, and sharing this information with key staff including the CEO.

Support the Development team in addressing specific questions and needs of donors.

Review, research, import, enter, and reconcile external donor gift information and entries.

Reconciliation of donor database revenue postings to accounting software at daily, year end and annual audit or oversee other staff tasked with this function.

Generate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports from database.

Prepare and process timely gift acknowledgement letters, department letters, and mailings.

Coordinate with direct mail house, to send, receive, and install zip+4 and NCOA updates.

Perform ongoing maintenance of donor records, mailing lists and scheduled data entry audits to ensure accuracy and adherence to data entry guidelines.

Manage annual state registrations both in mail and electronic form.

Communicate via telephone, occasionally in person, with donors, banks, gifting organizations to provide customer service to and on behalf of donors.

Donor search, stewardship chart changes periodically.
Database Training and Support:

Serve as key team resource for the organization’s Raiser’s Edge NXT donor database.

Make recommendations for improvement of donor database including what data is stored and tracked.

Serve as donor development team representative as a database super user and help cross-train other staff to enter and track gifts and issue acknowledgement letters.

Look for tools that can be integrated into donor database that improve fundraising and other efficiencies.
Events and Special Projects:

Manage Dogs for Better Lives peer-to-peer platform (Blackbaud) and engage individuals to create independent and internal fundraising events.

Oversee Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) application and track annual membership and recognition.

Assist in the design and development of prospective donor cultivation events such as prospect gatherings and donor education sessions.

Follow-up with prospective community partners with mailings, phone calls, and in-person meetings, addressing DBL mission, strategic focus, collaboration opportunities, and introduction to prospective clients.

Work with various stakeholders to develop local/regional community partnerships that benefit DBL work regionally and nationally.

Qualifications:

Minimum of two years nonprofit development experience.
-
Minimum of two years event management and organization experience.

Minimum of two years database entry and navigation experience.

Travel up to 20% of time, representing organization at DBL-planned events.

Project management and strategy development.

Excellent writing and editing skills.
-
Generate creative, innovative ideas.

Four-year college degree.
