Overview:
We are seeking a skilled X-ray Technician to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating X-ray equipment to perform diagnostic imaging procedures on patients. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques and diagnostic evaluation.
Functions and Duties:
- Positions, explains procedure and sets technical factors for the appropriate examination.
- Performs routine radiographs of skull, chest, pelvis, spine, abdomen and extremities for diagnosis of abnormalities
- Receives and evaluates physician orders with patient history and information.
- Assist radiologist in fluoroscopy and spot film examinations which require administration of contrast material: e.g., gastrointestinal series, barium enemas, pyelograms, joint injections and cholangiograms.
- Prepares contrast media and administers to patient.
- Operates fixed and mobile radiographic equipment.
- Coordinates patient information with PACS and EMR to save data and radiation dose.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an AMA approved radiology program required.
- 1 year preferred.
- Basic life support certification required.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology (R) required.
- Illinois Emergency Management Agency certification to perform Radiology required.
- Strong knowledge in anatomy and image critic preferred.
