Chatterbox is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our team. As a Pediatric Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care and rehabilitation services to infants, children, and adolescents with physical disabilities, developmental delays, or injuries. Your expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating pediatric patients will be essential in promoting their optimal physical functioning and enhancing their quality of life.
Responsibilities:
Evaluation and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the physical abilities, motor skills, range of motion, strength, coordination, balance, and functional limitations of pediatric patients. Utilize standardized assessment tools and techniques to gather relevant data and establish baseline measurements.
Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices. Collaborate with parents/guardians, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to outline appropriate treatment interventions and set realistic short-term and long-term goals.
Therapeutic Interventions: Provide direct physical therapy interventions to pediatric patients using a variety of techniques, exercises, therapeutic activities, and modalities. Focus on improving gross motor skills, balance, coordination, strength, endurance, mobility, and functional independence.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document the progress of each patient, adjusting treatment plans as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Patient and Family Education: Educate patients, parents, and caregivers on the purpose of physical therapy interventions, home exercise programs, adaptive equipment, and strategies to promote carryover of therapeutic gains in daily activities and routines.
Collaborative Approach: Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for pediatric patients. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning discussions.
Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research, trends, and advancements in pediatric physical therapy by attending conferences, workshops, and continuing education programs. Strive to enhance clinical skills and knowledge to deliver the highest quality of care.
Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice. Comply with all relevant healthcare regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure or eligibility to practice as a Physical Therapist.
- Specialization or certification in pediatric physical therapy is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric growth and development, motor control, and musculoskeletal conditions affecting children.
- Experience working with infants, children, and adolescents in a pediatric setting is desirable.
- Proficiency in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to provide compassionate care and maintain a positive and supportive environment for pediatric patients.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize tasks efficiently.
