The Utility Assistance Clerk is responsible for the interviewing of applicants and processing of applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). This position has a significant amount of face-to-face contact with clients and must demonstrate a professional attitude at all times as a representative of the agency.
Monday-Thursday 8am-2pm
Duties and Responsibilities
· Interview clients and assist with completing the application process
· Process client applications with attention to detail and accuracy
· Ensure all required documentation is included in the client’s file
· Determine client/household eligibility based on program guidelines
· Follow through with proper procedures based on status of client’s application
– approved or denied
· Maintain client confidentiality at all times
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Must have basic Excel spreadsheet and Microsoft Access knowledge
· Must have good customer service skills
· Must be self motivated

Physical Demands
Job involves sitting for long periods of time and repetitive keyboard use, walking, reaching, speaking and listening.
