Teacher Assistant Job Description
Cherry Creek Academy (CCA) is an academically rigorous public charter school serving students from kindergarten through eighth grade. CCA utilizes the Core Knowledge© curriculum and values academic achievement, character development, and community service.
We are looking for Teacher Assistants that are certified teachers and/or aspire to become full time certified teachers.
Job Description - What you will do

- All Teaching Assistants, like Teachers, engage in a rigorous intellectual preparation process in which they deeply internalize lessons and practice critical portions of each lesson with classroom teachers in advance
- Deliver engaging, motivating, and rigorous instruction in whole-class, small group and individual settings alongside certified classroom teachers.
- Provide academic and behavioral interventions to small groups and/or individual students.
- Analyze student achievement data and action plan in collaboration with classroom teachers and grade level teams.
- Monitor student progress to ensure positive and meaningful small group instruction
- Build and enhance a classroom and school-wide culture of high expectations in which all children are positioned to engage with challenging, grade-level content.
- Teach and enforce school-wide systems and procedures designed to maximize learning for all children.
- Consistently use school-wide behavior management systems that ensure logical consequences and restorative practices that are predictable and supportive of our children’s academic growth and social development.
- Support students in meeting and exceeding grade level expectations.
- Communicate regularly and proactively with students and classroom teachers.
- Actively participate in professional development sessions engaging fully to maximize the learning of new skills and knowledge with our students.
- Continuously use feedback from students, classroom teachers and CCA colleagues to make productive changes in instructional practices and overall performance.
- Participate in additional activities including field trips, intensive academic support sessions, and other required programs as needed throughout the year.
- Support Lunch Room staff as needed.
Compensation & Benefits:
Our compensation and benefits for Teaching Assistant but are not limited to the following:
- Annual starting salary of $40,000

- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.

- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Teaching Certification preferred
