Webasto is seeking highly motivated candidates that have experience ensuring excellent technical performance and optimum availability of production equipment to join our team as a Project Quality Engineer (full-time) at our facility in Auburn Hills, MI. Telecommuting; Hybrid- 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track quality key performance indicators on power Business Intelligence, Including Part In specification tolerances; control plan adherence, safe launch results.
- Develop overall quality plan including quality assurance check sheets, and installation and follow up of Safe launch plans and product audit.
- Assess Advanced Product Quality Planning plan on the customer portals ensuring customer expectations are met.
- Develop and initiate feasibility reviews and conduct feasibility assessments based on customer- specific requirements and specifications.
- Integrate plant quality assurance practices.
- Resolve quality issues using proper problem resolution techniques and implement containment actions and permanent corrective actions.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams in the application of the 8D methodology, participating on Quick Response Quality Control during product launch.
- Conduct dimensional analysis and measure statistical process capability of product to ensure specification requirements are met and customer satisfaction is ensured.
- Develop action plans to resolve dimensional issues.
- Conduct measurement system analysis and correlation studies to ensure equipment maintains repeatability and reproducibility in measurement capability.
- Attend and prepare information for Gateway / Steering committee meetings following the development process.
- Implement customer and company specific standards and requirements into serial production.
- Supporting the execution and maintenance of the plant KPIs including Internal Quality Operating System.
- Supporting and attend internal and external audits.
- Define process parameters and criteria to ensure effective process capability to meet product and process requirements alongside Design and Manufacturing engineering team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- U.S. Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely-related field
- (3) three years of post-baccalaureate experience as a Project Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer, Automotive Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or closely related occupation involving advanced product quality planning from product phase up through series plant transfer required.
The three (3) years of experience must include experience with all of the following: creating pre-series and series prototype control plans; applying statistical techniques and software, including Minitab or Statistical Process control; Customer Production Part Approval Process completion based on customer Advanced Product Quality Planning and development process; and FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, APQP, and SPC automotive core tools.
